The evolution of the Toronto can be explained through a series of analyses that discuss the city's experience with spatial interaction, economics, poverty, ethnicity and race, land and environment, and transportation. Each of these analyses provides relevant information regarding the changes Toronto experienced in its social, economic, and physical environments over time. It is from these analyses that we determined the critical shifts and events in Toronto's history that played the primary role in shaping the modern-day city.
